GSM Cells

The GSM Association is made up of a group of supporters, including mobile phone operators and companies associated with the mobile phone business, dedicated to promoting the GSM system. The GSM Association was formally established in 1995 under the name GSM MoU Association. It claims to have around 800 mobile phone operators in its membership as well as around 200 members belonging to related companies and services.

According to its website the GSM Association is dedicated to driving growth in the world of mobile communications. As well as working with organisations within the entertainment industry, internet companies, software firms, manufacturers of mobile phone hardware and handsets, the GSM Association aims to provide services for those who use mobile phones to ensure that they can easily and affordably connect to the services they require.

The GSM Association has its head office in London but is also based in locations around the world including Hong Kong, Barcelona and Atlanta. One of the Association’s primary aims is to provide a voice for the GSM community. It also keeps a close eye on regulations and government policy to make sure mobile phones benefit all those who use them.

The Association aims to provide environmental solutions and initiatives across all mobile phone industry services and products.

The GSM Association has been called one of the world’s most influential trade bodies with influence over governments’ policies on a range of factors from pricing to tax.
